Mobile Crisis Teams

Mobile Crisis Teams consist of mental health professionals dispatched to community locations to provide immediate assessment, intervention and treatment to people experiencing a psychiatric emergency. The teams provide services where the person is located such as home, work place, hospital emergency department, and others. Teams work in partnership with other community resources such as the police, crisis intervention agencies, shelters and others.

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY

Crisis Response System Warmline 410-768-5522 - 24 hours/7 days/week.

The Warmline provides Anne Arundel County residents in crisis with supportive assistance and linkages to various community resources.

Community Outreach Team of Anne Arundel County (COTAA)

The COTAA primarily serves persons with mental health issues and unstable living arrangements.   
Services are available Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Saturday: 8:00 a.m. to Midnight  

Critical Incidents Stress Debrief:

Specialty trained persons are available to respond to manmade or natural traumatic community events and provide psychological intervention.

BALTIMORE CITY

Baltimore Crisis Response, Inc. (BCRI)

Provides crisis services to adults experiencing a psychiatric crisis, in need of detoxification for chemical addictions, and who are dually diagnosed.

Trained counselors provide information and referral to the network of human services in the Baltimore metropolitan area. Counselors also provide supportive counseling, dispatch emergency assistance and link callers with more intensive services.

In Home Support
Mobile Crisis teams help people remain in their community by making regular home visits to assess their needs and linking to services.

Residential Crisis Beds
BCRI operates 20 psychiatric crisis beds.

Addiction Services
In response to the growing need for addictions treatment services, BCRI provides a 10-day residential detoxification program for chemically addicted and dually diagnosed persons.

Urgent Care Clinic
Appointments for urgent mental health issues are available Monday through Friday 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Weekend hours vary. Call 410-931-2214 to make an appointment. There are two clinics located in Timonium and Randallstown.

In-Home Intervention Teams
Specialty mental health professionals provide in-home services on a temporary basis. The service is designed to help stabilize less urgent crises and provide linkages to on-going services.

Critical Incident Stress Debriefing
Specialty trained persons are available to respond to manmade or natural traumatic community events and provide psychological intervention.

Calvert Crisis Response is a comprehensive crisis team available 24/7 to provide immediate, onsite access to behavioral health (substance use and/or mental health) treatment. With an office location and mobile treatment option, Calvert Crisis Response is here to serve our community members. The Calvert Crisis Response team, which includes a medical provider, a therapist, and a peer recovery specialist, helps to streamline access to behavioral health services, as well as provide same-day treatment for opioid misuse. Following engagement, case management services are initiated to help individuals engage in treatment and decrease the likelihood of future crises.

HARFORD COUNTY

Mobile Crisis Teams 410-874-0711 or 1-800-NEXT-STEP. 

Available 24 hours a day, the Mobile Crisis Teams respond to homes and the community to provide on-site mental health assessment and stabilization services. Counselors will work with the person in crisis to assess current needs and connect to supports and resources to establish safety and treatment in the least restrictive environment. Mobile Crisis Teams are a partnership among the Howard County Mental Health Authority, Howard County Police Department, and Grassroots. Services are available 7 days/week from Noon to 11:00 p.m.

Montgomery County Crisis Center Hospital Diversion Initiative:

On-site or telephone screening for adults in the emergency rooms who are at risk of state funded psychiatric hospitalization and linkage to services.

Critical Incident Stress Management:

24-hours, 7-days/week consultation and services at the Crisis Center or in the community. Specialty trained persons are available to respond to manmade or natural traumatic community events and provide support and interventions.

Residential Crisis Services (Triage and Evaluation Program):

Provides triage and evaluation beds to prevent hospitalization and link with ongoing treatment. The maximum length of stay is 72 hours.

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY

The Crisis Response System is for people experiencing a psychiatric crisis. Crisis services are available for adults, youth, and children 4 years and older. Services may include Mobile Crisis Team dispatch, In-Home family Intervention Team (IFIT) services, referral to residential crisis beds, linkage to psychiatric treatment services, and critical incident and disaster response and others.  The above telephone numbers are used to obtain access information and receive referrals to the services below:

24 hours/7 days/week, including holidays - Appointments can be provided within 48 hours for urgent cases requiring assessment and brief treatment. Hours vary daily and include morning, afternoon, and evening hours.

Residential Crisis Services:
Residential Crisis services offer a 24-hour supervised environment for the purpose of preventing or shortening inpatient hospitalizations. Referrals to Crisis Residential Services can be made by hospitals, community programs, family members, and individuals.

Critical Incident Stress Management:
24 hours/7 days/week, including holidays
